WHAT IS IT?
The tropical rainforest is one of the most complex ecosystems out there! Some limiting factors for it are.... sunlight ☀️ is a huge limiting factor. The tree canopy covers the entire rainforest and blocks light out from getting to the floor of the rainforest. The trees grow in certain ways in order to get maximum sunlight so it is hard of new trees to grow. Another big limiting factor is nutrients in the soil 🌿, because there are so many microbes that live in the soil, they take up all of the nutrient and leave the things that they don't need on the floor for the rest of the organisms. Space 🌐 is also another factor because organisms fight for space on the ground and in the air due to over population.
The rainforest also has biotic factors ( living factors 🐍🐝🌳) and Abiotic factors ( non living 💧🔥). The biotic factors are fungi 🍄, trees 🌳, Bacteria 🌀, and A. tumefaciens ( microorganisms). Some abiotic factors are precipitation 🌁, climate 🙇, sunlight ⛅️, soil nutrients 🍃.

The rainforest is full of interesting things to research! One in particular is an article by Dan Krotz. Dan Krotz was saying that Rainforests now hold a lot of clues for more efficient biofuel production like a biomass breakdown engine that is found in the soil of Rainforest's. He stated that " Microbial communities rank among the most efficient biomass breakdown engines on Earth." Scientists at Berkeley lab are incubating grass and soil communities taken from this rainforest and this helps the team to home in on the parameters that best drive biomass decomposition. This carries out sequencing projects that accelerate research in energy, agriculture and carbon sequestration. Read more
